13. How did prayer help one family who were unjustly treated?
13 Consider the experience of a sister named Vero, who lives in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Vero, her unbelieving husband, and their 15-year-old daughter had to flee their village when it was attacked by a militia group. Along the way, the family came to a roadblock where the militia detained them and threatened to execute them. When Vero began to cry, her daughter tried to calm her by praying out loud and by repeatedly using Jehovah’s name in her prayer. When she finished, the commander of the militia group asked, “Young girl, who taught you to pray?” She replied, “My mother did, using the pattern that is found at Matthew 6:9-13.” The commander said, “Young girl, go with your parents in peace, and may Jehovah your God protect you!”
This study article is all about how Jehovah helps those who show faith in him. Faith in Jehovah overcomes obstacles, injustice, great storms and how Jehovah helps materially with those in need.
Paragraph 13 is just another made-up experience that the Society loves to shove onto their faithful followers. A sister named Vero ( no last name ) who lives in Congo ( no village name ) is detained by a militia ( no name of militia ) and are threatened with execution. When Vero's daughter prays out loud to Jehovah, the commander is so moved he say's the following, “Young girl, go with your parents in peace, and may Jehovah your God protect you!”
In the mean time, Jehovah has a tough time helping brothers and sisters in Russia.

During the great tribulation, Gog of Magog’s forces may try to assault us in our homes. But we can take comfort in knowing that Jesus and his angels are aware of what is happening and will defend us (See paragraph 13)
13. When Gog of Magog attacks, why will we appear to be vulnerable, but what reason for confidence will we have? (See cover picture.)
13 In the near future, our trust in Jehovah’s ability to protect us will be put to the test. When Gog of Magog, a coalition of nations, attacks God’s people, our lives will appear to be in danger. We will need to be convinced that Jehovah can and will deliver us. To the nations, we will seem like defenseless sheep with no one to protect us. (Ezek. 38:10-12) We will be unarmed, untrained in warfare. The nations will see us as easy targets. They will not see what we see with our eyes of faith—a host of angels camped all around God’s people, ready to defend us. How could the nations see them? They have no spiritual vision. What a surprise is in store for them when the heavenly armies come to our aid!—Rev. 19:11, 14, 15.
This illustration shows a Jehovah's Witness family at home studying the Bible. Little do they know that a police/military force is about to smash in their doors and assault /arrest the family because they are God's holy people. God's angel are aware of this event and will defend the family and come to their aid.
My questions to this silly scenario : Who will have the list of all Jehovah's Witnesses and their home addresses? Where are they brought after being arrested/killed? What will the angels do to prevent harm to ''God's people'' before and after this event? Why can't the angels attack the ''coalition of nations'' before they arrive at the door?

Calling employees self employed subcontractors when in fact they were not. Avoids FICA and insurance
I worked for 2 landscape contractors over 30 years ago. One was an elder, and one was a ministerial servant. They gave me a paycheck at the end of each week. When the landscape season ended, they handed me a 1099 self-employment form that I was to report on my income tax form. I assumed they both payed the employee taxes, but left me holding the bag.

The Watchtower—Study Edition | December 2021
7 A merchant might take pride in the fact that he had never taken anything that did not belong to him. But what about his business practices? As recorded at Leviticus 19:35, 36, Jehovah said: “You must not use dishonest standards in measuring length, weight, or volume. You should use accurate scales, accurate weights, an accurate dry measure, and an accurate liquid measure.” A merchant who used inaccurate scales or measurements in order to deceive his customers would in a sense be stealing from them. A further consideration of Leviticus chapter 19 makes that clear.
In view of Leviticus 19:11-13, a Christian might make what self-examination about business practices? (See paragraphs 8-10) *
There are many business owners inside Kingdom Halls that are run by local brothers and sisters. The businesses run from office/home cleaning, carpenters/remodelers, landscapers, plumbers, electricians and many others that are owned by honest and hardworking Witnesses.
Here is an illustration in the December 2021 Watchtower Study Edition of an honest Jehovah's Witness handing out what looks like a weekly paycheck to his employee. An honest days work for an honest days pay !
What they don't show you are brothers that don't pay their employees on time, brothers that cheat on material and time spent on the job. Our congregation had a brother who owned a small heating and air-conditioning service. He was caught several times billing local brothers and sisters for new parts, while using used parts on his service calls.
No wonder they need an article about honesty! There are more dishonest business practices inside the congregation than you see and hear!
hello i’m looking to delete this account completely ya know.

i was appointed as a regular pioneer in a certain congregation.
in that congregation, a very obese male pioneer seduced a nice looking married pioneer sister who had two teenage sons.
her husband was a ms. both were df'd.
After 40 years in ( baptized 1977), I witnessed all the drama, backstabbing, rumors, divorces, cheating, a physical fight inside the Kingdom Hall, spankings of small children where no one said a word, members who would change congregations due to conflicts with Elders, heated words on the podium from one Elder to another Elder, spousal abuse, disfellowshipping, brothers who were contractors who were shady even to fellow members, Elders who favored family when it came down to appointments for Ministerial Servants and new Elders, loans that were never paid to fellow members where Elders had to step in, Elder wives knowing everything that was happening in the congregation, members who took and sold drugs, and alcoholics.
david splane’s talk “put up a hard fight for the faith” was that last talk presented on the saturday of the annual convention.
this talk was to largely address apostates and restated ideas and arguments often presented before.
however, this year, watchtower is spending more time in disqualifying negative findings originating from secular courts and here is the segment of interest here: .
Here is David Splane is using the Governing Bodies typical ''weasel words'' to hide the truth about the organization.
persecution, Satan, apostates, the negative media, opposers, weak in the faith
"Actually, neither side probably wants the whole truth to come out in court."
Mr. Splane: You may not want the whole truth to come out, but by the mere fact the Society is settling out of court lawsuits, shows that the Society really fears the court system and the jury duty system you put down.

2 think how heartbroken jehovah must have been when members of his own angelic family turned their back on him!

12 By supporting the elders’ decision to disfellowship your loved one, you may actually help him to return to Jehovah. “Severing family association with our adult son was extremely difficult,” admits Elizabeth, quoted earlier. “But after he returned to Jehovah, he admitted that he deserved to be disfellowshipped. In time, he expressed appreciation for the lessons he learned. I came to value Jehovah’s discipline,” she says. Her husband, Mark, adds: “Much later, our son told me that he wanted to come back in part because we did exactly what we had to do. I’m so glad Jehovah helped us to be obedient.”
My cousin was disfellowshipped over 24 years ago when he was 20 years old. He is not welcome to any family functions. He has two young children ( a 3 year old and a one year old) who have not seen their grandfather ( an elder ). His father refuses to see his grandkids and his son. His father told that him that he cannot have any association with him '' until you come back to Jehovah.''
My cousin told me that he will never go back. He said, "Why would I go back after being treated like this?''
When my cousin's one year old was born, my cousin's father sent him a baby gift with a congratulations card. It was only addressed to his wife and grandkids. He didn't even have the decency to put his son's name on the card.

The person leaving the Organization is in this way portrayed as someone cruel, who can leave his wife and children. The horror it puts in the hearts of JW wives and children: If daddy leaves Jehovah, he will leave us too.
6 At times, a parent abandons the truth and even the family. (Ps. 27:10) This can be devastating for children who had looked up to the parent as a role model. Esther, whose father was disfellowshipped, says: “I cried often because I realized that he was not just drifting away from the truth. He was making a deliberate choice to leave Jehovah altogether. I love my father, so when he was disfellowshipped, I constantly worried about his well-being. I even had panic attacks.”
